Abstract

This article starts by recognizing the distinction between mind and cognition, arguing that cognition is a component of mind, and putting forward the Separability Hypothesis as a working hypothesis in order to get over a number of philosophical objections to the "Strong AI" hypothesis. According to this theory, the more general architecture of the mind may be factored out from the architecture of cognition. As a result, searching for an architectural level that can explain all of the intriguing cognitive processes is most likely futile. The potential for the use of artificial intelligence in heavy current electrical engineering is shown by the use of computer-aided engineering, which primarily covers the fields of electric power systems and electrical machines and drives. It is challenging to adequately describe even comparatively simple cognitive events in terms of a single level since, in contrast to the computer paradigm, there are several levels that interact. The durability and consistency of artificial intelligence techniques, together with their ease of documentation and replication, may be advantageous for the development of new technologies in high tension power supply and other electrical engineering fields.
